16 BISD Students Qualify for Finals in State Arts & Literacy Contest

This is the image for the news article titled 16 BISD Students Qualify for Finals in State Arts & Literacy ContestA total of sixteen Brazosport ISD students in grades first through fifth were named finalists in the "Art & Literacy" contest through Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Each student received a $25 Visa gift card, a framed certificate, and their artwork will travel to Austin to be judged in the statewide competition.

The contest guidelines directed students to choose their favorite character in literature and incorporate words and color to describe their choice. Using a variety of expressions, the students wrote poems, paragraphs, or even posters to combine their words and artistry.
Mrs. Lenise Garratt, Teacher at SF Austin STEM Academy praised the students,”I am so proud of your hard work! You are all AMAZING!”
